Global Grassroots Consulting is excited to announce the newest member of our social impact community, buildingPULSE! buildingPULSE is an organization that works with breweries and wineries in the Santa Rosa, CA area to help them save on energy consumption. In helping these organizations save on their energy consumption, buildingPULSE also helps them save money. It’s a win win scenario! Reduce impact on the environment while saving money.
How Does buildingPULSE Save Energy?
For many breweries and wineries, especially the smaller ones, much of the processes set in place tend to consume an excessive amount of energy. For example, chillers that are used to keep beer and wine cooled at a specific temperature, tend to stay on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; this is especially true for smaller companies that cannot afford more advanced equipment. The reality is that a 24/7 running time is unnecessary and wasteful. Chillers only need to run until the unit reaches its target temperature. Once achieved, chillers should turn off to save on energy, until temperatures fall below a certain level and therefore must resume operations. In the instance that the team at buildingPULSE identifies an overconsumption of energy at a brewery or winery, buildingPULSE is able to help. buildingPULSE implements processes and IoT devices to monitor and reduce energy consumption.
How Does buildingPULSE Know that there is Overconsumption?
In order to determine whether a brewery or winery is overconsuming energy, buildingPULSE must first run week long tests onsite. buildingPULSE installs tracking devices to monitor a company’s current energy consumption levels. Then, based on their analytics and baseline data for breweries of comparable size, they are able to determine the amount of energy savings they may provide. According to the buildingPULSE team, they are able to save many breweries and wineries up to 25% on their energy consumption. Isn’t that amazing?! Imagine all that you could do with the money saved from a 25% cost savings on your electric and gas bills.
Who is a Part of the buildingPULSE Team?
buildingPULSE is a two man team, made up of the IoT expert, Vishnu Kumar, and the brewery energy saving savant, Tim Bishop. Vishnu is from India and Tim is from Santa Rosa. The pair met at a virtual conference. It was here that they realized their intersecting skillsets and their common goal of helping breweries save on energy consumption. Vishnu lives in India, running the IoT operations. Tim lives in Santa Rosa, reviewing breweries’ energy consumption, making suggestions and implementing positive change. They are a dynamic duo and a formidable force.
What is Global Grassroots Consulting Doing for buildingPULSE?
buildingPULSE is in search of their first two pilot customers. They have an amazing service that they are ready to provide to breweries in the Santa Rosa area, but they need to establish their first paying clients. Their goal in identifying their first two clients is to improve upon their current processes and develop case studies for successful work completed. With this goal in mind, Global Grassroots Consulting is contracted to provide help in the full life cycle of the sales process: prospecting, outreach, scheduling and close of sale. Since Tim is located in Santa Rosa and needs to visit onsite in order to implement devices and processes onsite, Global Grassroots Consulting will target this area at first.
